I am currently looking for a School Receptionist/Administrator to join my client's team on a part-time, temporary basis. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact at the school, providing a warm welcome to all visitors and offering administrative support across various functions. This role is ideal for someone with excellent organizational skills, a friendly approach, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient school environment.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Oversee the school reception area, handling enquiries and managing visitors, ensuring adherence to safeguarding protocols.
  • Provide accurate and helpful information to parents, students, staff, and other visitors, drawing on a thorough understanding of school activities.
  • Maintain the security of the school entrance, monitoring visitor access and ensuring doors are secured as necessary.
  • Manage incoming calls and emails, take detailed messages, and coordinate follow-ups with appropriate staff members.
  • Schedule appointments, maintain the school diary, and liaise with various professionals connected to the school.
  • Support the administrative needs of the school, including document management, attendance tracking, and event coordination.
  • Update the school management system with relevant data and assist with the induction of new staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and GDPR regulations.
  • Keep the school website current with updates and announcements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a reception or administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in school management systems and standard office software.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and safeguarding practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative when needed.
