We are currently working with a school based in Surrey, to start September 2025 on a full time basis.

Job Description As a Learning Support Assistant, your role is to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment where pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Working with teachers and the therapy team, you'll provide tailored support for a specific tutor group during lessons and transitions between classes.

Key Responsibilities

*

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and encourage their engagement and confidence in learning.

*

Understand each pupil's 'Pupil Passport' and collaborate with teachers to implement strategies aligned with EHCPs.

*

Support classroom learning by assisting teachers and proactively engaging with pupils to keep them focused and challenged.

*

Provide feedback to the SENCO and staff about effective teaching strategies and highlight any concerns.

*

Apply behaviour policies consistently to maintain a positive learning environment. Record and guide reflection sessions with pupils to help them meet targets.

*

Assist with enrichment activities, offsite trips, and break times, ensuring safety and promoting new experiences.

*

Deliver adapted learning content to individuals or small groups and provide feedback to teachers on outcomes.

*

Monitor pupils' wellbeing, reporting concerns in line with safeguarding protocols.

*

Maintain high professionalism, complying with policies on Positive Behaviour Support, Child Protection, Health & Safety, and Data Protection.

Person Specification Qualifications & Training

*

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, grade 4 or above.

Experience

*

Experience working with children with special educational needs (e.g., autism, SEMH, ADHD) is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Skills & Knowledge

*

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

*

Self-motivation, teamwork, and the ability to establish good relationships with pupils and colleagues.

*

Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
