Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home

Location: Middlesex
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Rota can be provided, includes two weekends per month. Working week consists of two 13-hour days supplemented by two 7-hour days.
Setting: 6-Bed Home, currently with 3 residing between 13 to 15 year olds.

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a highly committed team at a children's home in Middlesex looking to help improve the performance of the setting.

About the Role

As a Deputy Manager, you will:

* Assist the Registered Manager in maintaining the smooth and effective running of the home.

* Lead by example, managing and guiding the team to deliver exceptional care to children and young people.

* Support children's physical, psychological, and emotional development in a safe and nurturing environment.

* Ensure the home complies with regulatory requirements, including Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

* Step into the Manager's role during absences, maintaining the home to a high standard.

* Oversee staff rotas, training, supervision, and performance management.

* Act as a mentor to staff, fostering their professional growth and confidence.

* Manage behaviours that challenge and guide staff in effective strategies.

* Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring they meet statutory requirements.

About You

To be successful, you will:

* Have at least 2 years' experience working in a children's home, with supervisory responsibilities.

* Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care with Children and Young People.

* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations, safeguarding, and inspection frameworks.

* Have experience supporting children with learning disabilities and communicating effectively to understand their wishes and feelings.

* Possess excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Be proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Clearcare Solutions is advantageous.

* Hold a full UK driving licence.
