Property Accounts AssistantWest End£35-£40k, Study package, Bonus, Non-Contributory pension, Flex working:- 4:1The role: To maintain an organised and professional cashiering function for the Property Management department. To provide support to the Property Accountants & Credit Controller to ensure clear and accurate accounting to tenants and the finance department.This role would suit a Cashier or Assistant Client Accountant seeking a more involved role.Duties:
- Allocate and post all tenant related cash receipts for rent, service charge and insurance
- Post all non-tenant related cash receipts
- Reconcile and pay over all rental income to Finance Team in accordance with agreed terms.
- Carry out scheduled inter-bank transfers on the banking software.
- Prepare all paperwork for service charge and rent deposit bank account openings & closures.
- Ensure all paperwork is signed in line with the bank mandates and process through the bank/returned to the property surveyors.
- Maintain and reconcile the central clearing account on a monthly basis for the department. Investigating and resolving any reconciled items.
- Responsible for being one of the primary contacts for the bank.
- To work with the credit controller to maintain all tenant deposit funds held. Ensuring accurate postings and allocations of bank interest on security deposits.
- To prepare and analyse service charge property funding in advance of biweekly payment runs, and report on any shortfalls in cash
- To reconcile and administer short term service charge float funding from Landlord to cover short-term cash shortfalls.
- Prepare demand raises and void funding on a periodic basis, securing approval from asset managers.
- To issue direct recoverable invoices to tenants with relevant supporting documentation.
Requirements:
- Experience within a Cashier or Assistant Client Accountant function.
- Good Excel skills
- A working knowledge of property management systems
- Working knowledge of cash & treasury management
- Basic accounting and reconciliation skills
- Good time management & ability to prioritise workload to meet targets.
- Team player with good problem-solving skills.
