Duties and Responsibilities:

Undertake all required work activities ensuring that tasks are prioritised and completed in a timely way to ensure that the plants schedules are fully met.
Ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with safe methods of work, using standard operating procedures, correct PPE, and safety assessments, and help develop these safe methods of work where they do not exist.
Full understanding of the plant operations and process and a good understanding of the distributed control system, local controllers, and manual operations.
Support plant maintenance activities.
Take personal responsibility for the quality and completion of the work tasks given to the Operations team.
Measure and record quantities/qualities of all materials produced (including slag, metal, air pollution control residue, effluent, bed sand, other wastes, etc.) using inhouse laboratory techniques and equipment (including XRF, carbon analysis) and external test agents where necessary/cost effective.
Prepare additives for the process plant based on predicted requirements.
Assist in ensuring skills and competence are relevant by undertaking, and applying, suitable training and development.
Ensure the working environment is safe and in a clean condition, including organising periodic cleaning of operational and welfare areas.
Recording quantities of all waste materials produced (including slag, APC residue, effluent, bed sand and others), co-ordinating with the Plant Manager for their safe storage and disposal.
Ensure all waste materials delivered, produced, stored and removed from site are managed in line with the required legislation and site requirements.
Actively seek and identify opportunities for improvement to plant operations and agree corrective actions with the Plant Manager.
Participate in activities, as required from time-to-time, that are not standard but assist in the development of the plant or the business.

Qualifications and Experience:

NEBOSH H&S at Work (or equivalent)
Qualified under site Safety Rules to appropriate levels
Confined Space
Boiler Training

Desirable:

Familiarity with waste, energy-from-waste, or process environments.
Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls or Mechanical qualifications, experience or skills
Competency in hot works.
Experience in similar operational environment
