Property Lawyer - Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour (Ltd Umbrella)

We are seeking a Property Lawyer for an ongoing temporary assignment with a local authority in Oxford. This role is ideal for a professional with expertise in both commercial and residential property law, capable of handling transactions of strategic importance and advising the Council or its companies as needed.
Day-to-day of the role: - Manage commercial property matters and some residential issues for the Council, including transactions of strategic importance.
- Provide advice and undertake property work for the Council’s housing development company, including drafting sale agreements, development obligations, and utility agreements.
- Conduct detailed and complex reports on title and relevant searches across development schemes and project proposals.
- Advise on and assist with the compulsory purchase of land, land appropriation, and related property matters.
- Handle complex acquisitions and disposals of land and property, including leases, licences, and agreements.
- Partner with external bodies and advisors on major development and regeneration projects, assisting with the selection and appointment of external legal advisers and monitoring their performance.
- Collaborate with members of the Law and Governance Service to deliver high-quality services across the service’s functions.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Qualified Lawyer with a strong background in property law.
- Experience in dealing with both commercial and residential property matters.
- Ability to negotiate and draft complex legal documents.
- Experience in advising on compulsory purchase orders and land appropriation.
- Skilled in handling complex property transactions and non-contentious property work.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
