Reed are looking for a dedicated Sheet Metal Worker to join our clients production team. This role involves the fabrication, adjustment, and repair of aerospace components, specialising in thin gauge aluminium, steel, and titanium. Day to Day of the role:
  • Adhere to technical drawings, instructions, and processes to fabricate sheet metal products with precision.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines and hand tools to cut, bend, and straighten metal materials.
  • Shape sheet metal over anvils, blocks, or forms, ensuring accurate dimensions and smooth finishes.
  • Support the training of new employees or less experienced team members as required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by working in accordance with all company health and safety procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in using tools such as shrinkers, stretchers, straighteners, English wheels, and rollers to create profiles of parts.
  • Understanding of metal behaviour during forming.
  • Experience working with titanium, steel, and aluminium.
  • Panel beater skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents.
  • Familiarity with first-off inspection procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work under own initiative.
  • No welding experience is required.
