As in-house recruiters for DENSO Marston we are looking to recruit an experienced Production Engineer to strengthen and expand its Production Engineering Department to support new and existing business. Duties of the Production Engineer include the identification, project management and implementation of capital expenditure projects, introduction and validation of new machines, new product introduction, as well as productivity and process improvement projects.   • Plan, implement and monitor all new product/variant introductions with emphasis on efficient factory layout, process flow and optimization of capital equipment and ensure introduction of new products is in line with NPI targets (Time, quality, budget) and following APQP methodologies.
  • Responsible for process development by identifying correct work methods, process equipment etc.
  • Define requirements for new equipment based on process design, implement effectively while working in cross-functional team comprising of machine design, production, quality, purchasing etc to deliver the correct process equipment.
  • By utilizing lean manufacturing techniques and following PDCA cycle, identify, lead and implement improvements to
  • Production capacity and output
  • Improvement of First run capability of processes
  • Reduce scrap and rework
  • Improve Cycle time
  • OEE of Key equipment
  • Quality assurance and control of the processes
  • Safety and ergonomics in processes
  • Section layout
  • Manage engineering and process changes while following the established company procedures.
  • By using systematic problem solving techniques, support production section in case of technical problems with NPI and current processes with a view to finding and implementing short and long term solutions.
  • Lead and be involved in the identification, development, project management and implementation of complex improvement projects, ensure control over costs, quality and time.
  • Participate and influence design review meetings to reach decisions taken towards ‘design for test’ and ‘design for manufacture’.
  • Interact and manage professionally external suppliers for procurement and development of process related equipments, ensure their performance is monitored.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation (PFMEA/PCP/Operator instructions) in compliance with company's Quality management system (i.e. IATF16949)
Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience of Production or Manufacturing Engineering within an automotive Tier 1 or FMCG environment. In particular have proven experience in:
    • PRMEA/APQP/Six sigma/Statistical Process Control methodologies and their application.
    • Cell layout, manufacturing process and workstation design.
    • Materials flows, Kanban system and pull systems.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems, ideally AutoCAD, Ansys or Creo to generate designs of parts and tooling.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including communication, presentation and motivation.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
QualificationsDegree level qualification or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
