Division Leadership:
The earthworks and ground remediation division is led by a skilled team with significant experience in civil engineering. The company promotes a stable, family-oriented culture, ensuring long-term career progression for Quantity Surveyors and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing and overseeing budgets, forecasts, and cost plans for projects.
* Conducting cost value reconciliation and financial reporting to track project costs and ensure financial efficiency.
* Administering contracts, including managing variations, claims, and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
* Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure optimal value for the company.
* Collaborating with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to provide financial support throughout the project lifecycle.
* Conducting financial risk assessments and providing solutions to minimize potential cost overruns.
* Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and payment processes for subcontractors and suppliers.
* Managing the preparation of tender documents and cost estimates for new projects.
* Monitoring project progress and identifying areas for cost savings or additional funding requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all aspects of financial management.
Requirements:
To succeed as a Quantity Surveyor, the ideal candidate will have the following:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or construction (earthworks, ground remediation, or related fields preferred).
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
* A strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and tendering processes.
* Experience in financial reporting, budget management, and value engineering.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in using Quantity Surveying software and tools.
* Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
