An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Controls Engineer with experience developing control systems for complex machines. You will focus on automated test and robot systems for leading clients within the UK & US.

This is a great opportunity to work closely with a team of experienced Engineers who will mentor your career and you will immediately receive training for Beckhoff controllers.

Control Systems Engineer

£40,000 - £50,000

Controls Engineer - The Role:
· Collaborate between the engineering teams to support existing projects progression
· Drive the development of new, cutting-edge solutions.
· Specify, design, implement and commission complex control systems in demanding customer environments

Controls Engineer - The Person:
· Experienced using 61131 software - STL essential.
· Awareness of modern high-level programming languages
· Knowledge of modern PLC (e.g. Beckhoff, Rockwell, Siemens etc)
· Experience of servo motor/motion control
· Ability to interpret various electrical drawings/documents
· Strong fault-finding and problem solving skills
· Experience with SolidWorks Electrical
· Experience in the development of the following systems advantageous:
- Robotics/Motion
- Data Acquisition
- Safety Systems (e.g. TwinSAFE, PILZ, PROFIsafe)
- Networking Protocols (e.g. TCP/UDP)
· UK Driving license
· Willingness / ability to travel worldwide to support installations.
· Confident communicator, both written and verbal - ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
· Good schedule and budget control, with excellent problem-solving ability and team-working skills.
· Knowledge of engineering lifecycle and business process.

This is an office based position, 37.5 hours per week, with occasional hybrid working. Minimum office hours are 10:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday inclusive, and 10:00 - 13:00 on Fridays. The company provides a profit share scheme which for fiscal year 2024 is 20% on target performance.
