Job Role: Production Planner
Salary: £36,000 - £38,000

Hours / Shift Pattern:
4 on, 3 off (Wednesday to Saturday, 7 am - 5 pm)
Overview:
Everest People Solutions is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Production Planner to join a leading business in the food manufacturing sector. This role sits at the heart of the operation, coordinating between suppliers, production, logistics, and more, ensuring smooth day-to-day planning and delivery of high-quality products to major customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate production plans to maximize efficiency while meeting customer demand.
- Ensure plans account for material availability, labour, and production capacity.
- Process customer orders, update production schedules, and communicate changes to internal teams and third parties.
- Liaise with hauliers to ensure timely delivery and collection, optimizing vehicle scheduling for cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all transport needs are met, adjusting plans as necessary to minimize disruption.
- Collaborate with suppliers to manage stock levels, particularly flour and other key materials.
- Track performance against the production plan and address any discrepancies.
- Engage senior management if significant issues arise.
- Act as a central point of contact between internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication across the board.
- Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years in a production planning or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to remain calm under pressure, think on your feet, and handle multiple priorities.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with supply chain systems. Experience with Sage 200 is advantageous.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with supply chain processes in food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
