Job: Controls Engineer, Edinburgh

We are seeking a results-driven, innovative, and creative Controls Engineer to join a client in Edinburgh. Your primary focus will be maintaining current control platforms and assisting in project design, engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and troubleshoot process control systems.

* Engineer, design, and test electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.

* PLC/HMI hardware/software design, programming, and troubleshooting.

* Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC logic.

* Design and implement process network infrastructure.

* Communicate with vendors, process engineering, contractors, and project management.

* Specify and procure controls hardware and field instrumentation.

* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and government regulations.

Key Competencies:

* Strong understanding of PLC ladder logic and process control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc).

* Ability to design/enhance HMI applications.

* Skilled in diagnosing and repairing complex electrical problems.

* Knowledge of automation and electrical system design.

* Familiarity with applicable Electrical Codes.

* Experience in plant commissioning.

* Effective communication skills.

* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
