Machine Shop Supervisor Required!

Our client is a global, market leader in the design, development and manufacturing of drinks dispensing products.

On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor. The successful candidate will oversee machine shop operators and assist the manager with machine shop operations. This is a "hands-on" role that requires the ability to plan, program, set up, and execute machining tasks on various CNC machines, including Hurco and Fanuc. Proficiency in manual machining techniques is also essential.

This is a full time position, working hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday 8am-1pm based on their site in Chorley.

Package:

• £18 - £20 per hour (DOE)

Machine Shop Supervisor - Responsibilities:

• Constructing and proving CNC programmes for new components.
• Supervise the production engineering team and assist in the design and commissioning of fixtures and tooling necessary for machining new components.
• Training and development of operators to ensure proper execution of the defined processes.
• Assist with the management and planning of production / workload in accordance with business priorities.
• Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve cost, quality and delivery objectives.

Machine Shop Supervisor - Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment (3 years)
• CNC Experience - both turning and milling on manual machines, manufacturing precision parts to tight tolerances & program both driven Y, C axis lathes and vertical milling machine centres.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive team player
• Ability to provide solutions to decrease cycle times and overcome day to day machining issues.
• A good knowledge of appropriate cutting data for machining a variety of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium and brass.
