About the Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, your role is to support the business to deliver the budget as determined in the Business Sales Strategy.  You will directly manage an agreed number of trade accounts both established and new to ensure achievement of your individual sales target.

Supported by the Sales Manager, and through consistent use of the sales management tools you will develop a systematic approach to:

  • Maximising project value with existing clients
  • Improve customer engagement to increase sales revenue
  • Optimise conversion rates.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Sales Performance

  • Implement KPI?s to ensure focused, data driven actions to maximise sales performance. Key KPI?s include monthly sales targets, conversion rates and response times to quote chasing.
  • Agree with Sales Managers a focused approach for each client to ensure appropriate, timely and consistent communication, striving to maximise the number of face -to- face and verbal interactions to develop meaningful, personal relationships.
  • Actively promote our fabrics.
  • Share best practice and learnings from client interactions with colleagues to improve the overall sales performance of the team.
  • Take ownership of your own continuous professional development by keeping up to date with both the company offer and trends in the wider marketplace.
  • Ensure key reports are updated at close of play each day with detailed meaningful data and comments.
  • Provide the Sales Manager with comprehensive updates at weekly one to one meetings, discussing performance, progress, actions, and forecasts. 
  • Report weekly and monthly sales data to the Sales Manager, together with forecasting of future sales and timings of conversion rates.
  • Agree a planned approach with the Sales Manager to re-engage dormant accounts prioritising based on historical order data
  • Monitor and assess trends in data to identify both short and medium terms sales actions required for your specific client base.
  • Highlight any potential orders of £50k at the initial stage to the Sales Manager and agree a focused, timely strategy to maximise the opportunity of conversion.
  • Interact with members of the factory team as required to ensure the smooth completion and delivery of each order.
  • Gain verbal, detailed feedback from all clients where we fail to convert the sale so a meaningful, detailed account of why we do not convert can be developed

Customer Service

  • Support a culture that aligns all customer facing interactions to the brand values.
  • Ensure that you are fully up to date with all options available in the product range e.g., new fabrics.
  • Operate as the key liaison between the sales team and operational functions such as product development, production, and logistics to ensure customer orders transition smoothly from sales through to production and delivery.
  • Take a proactive approach to problem solving, always looking diligently for a solution to potential barriers to sales to offer clients creative solutions.

Teamwork

  • Build collaborative relationships with sales and factory-based colleagues to promote a ?one team? culture that focuses on the needs of the end customer.
  • Support /Deputise for the Retail sales staff as required     

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Experience of developing strong client bases and relationships in a luxury furniture/interior environment.
  • Proven track record in sales growth that show a clear, positive impact on actual sales.
  • Experience in use of data analysis tools to monitor, analyse and forecast and improve sales performance
  • Proven track record in working collaboratively across departments to problem solve to ensure excellent levels of customer service are maintained.
  • Experience in the sales of large projects with a value in excess of £50k.
