Senior Food Technologist

Greater London

Salary: c£40k - £45K per annum plus benefits

Overview:

The role will play a key part in the management of UK technical processes, support the generation and communication of key technical information to UK customers with responsibility for overall compliance, supplier approval, finished product testing and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Set up for approval all external customer specifications, generating and submitting pack copy to meet customer and legal requirements.

* Co-ordinate technical sign off new products including product testing, activities in the critical path, meeting preparation and documentation control

* Support product development process technically from concept and work closely with teams to understand technical capabilities and practicalities.

* Ensure the critical path is met allowing products to be launched correctly and on time.

* Complete organoleptic testing throughout the product shelf-life cycle documenting the findings and making sure shelf-life is achieved and quality standards are maintained

* Complete customer format specifications.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Experience of the UK food industry and current legislation

* Degree in food science or nutrition or equivalent experience

* Excellent attention to detail, methodical and well-organised.

* Appreciation of requirements to developing high quality food service & retail products.

* Works well in a small team and uses initiative to drive activities independently.

* Confident written and verbal communication skills needed to work in an international environment.

* Enjoys completing complex projects and seeing tasks through to completion.
