Perms Direct, a family-run consultancy specializing in placing exceptional early years professionals in nurseries across London, is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Room Leader to join a team in Putney.

About the Role

As the Room Leader in the preschool room, you will play a central role in guiding and inspiring a team of nursery practitioners to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged 3-5 years. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a commitment to supporting young children as they prepare for their transition to primary school.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading and managing the preschool room team to deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework.

* Supporting children's individual learning needs, helping them reach developmental milestones, and setting a high standard of care and education.

* Fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and team members, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.

* Observing and assessing children's progress, maintaining accurate records, and guiding practitioners in developing individual learning plans.

* Collaborating with nursery management and team members to ensure consistent, high-quality care and adherence to best practices.

Requirements

* Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (essential).

* Proven experience in a leadership or senior practitioner role in a nursery or preschool setting.

* Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

* A warm, caring approach and a true passion for working with young children.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and support a team.
