Civils contractor working on utility projects in London requires an Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of civils / streetworks, such as excavation and reinstatement.

Responsibilities:

* Oversee the management of all works related to civil engineering, for example streetworks and laying of pipes and cables

* Manage a team of Project Managers

* Visit site to ensure the smooth running and successful delivery of projects

* Promote culture of health and safety

* Ensure compliance with regulations

* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as clients, contractors, suppliers, local authorities and regulatory bodies

* Liaise with councils and Highways Agency

* Monitor project progress against contractual obligations and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks or resolve issues

* Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, procurement, finance, and legal departments to ensure smooth project execution

* Provide guidance on contractual matters to project teams and assist in resolving any disputes or claims that may arise during project implementation

* Conduct regular contract reviews to identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities

* Carry out appraisals of team members

Experience:

* Background as an Operations Manager, responsible for delivery of civils, in the utilities sector

* Strong knowledge and experience of streetworks / NRSWA
