Job Title: Quantity SurveyorLocation: NG22 0PQSector: Construction / ManufacturingType: PermanentSalary: £30,000 - £35,000Sutton Recruitment are working exclusively to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading company who specialises in the production of innovative precast reinforced, pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete products.As the largest independent producer of pre-stressed bridge beams in Britain, who offer a comprehensive range of beam profiles as well as bespoke reinforced and post-tensioned products developed and tailored to the needs of individual projects.As the Quantity Surveyor, you will work under the direction of the Senior Quantity Surveyor. Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist with sub-contracted procurement and commercial management on designated projects
• Manage and control of sub-contractor accounts and variation accounts
• Assist and liaise with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
• Manage the day to day cost controls, monitoring and reporting on designated projects
• Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout
• Work with the Project Manager with sub-contractor selection and assist with ensuring the chosen sub-contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work
• Discuss contractual issues with the Project Manager
• Measure project progress, submit valuations, final accounts and retention releases and monitor receipt of payments
• Process sub-contractor requests for payments
• Support the commercial management team with compilation for monthly cost/valuation reports and cash flow to designated projects
• Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations on future projects
• Manage and collate monthly KPI data information
• Identify, record and price compensation events, variations and additional works and labour variances
• Maintain databases and electronic filing using the in-house PIM system Knowledge, Experience & Skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite, specifically Excel & Project
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail verbal & written
• Full Driver’s License and own car all mileage is paid for business travel
• Ability to manage time and workflow of projects efficiently
• Building effective working relations with people at all levels across our company and externallyQualifications
• Desired – Quantity Surveying Degree
• HNC/HND Qualification with surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction/Project ManagementWhat’s on offer
• Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm (30 minute lunch un-paid)
• 24 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (Birthday off)
