Pre-Contracts Manager (Estimating) - Regional D&B Workplace Fit-Out

Location: Reading (Flexible working, office required one day a week)
Projects: Southampton, Thames Valley & London
Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 + Commission, Travel Allowance, Healthcare & Pension

The Role:
As the Pre-Contracts Manager (Estimating), you will play a key role in shaping the future of our projects by tendering, pricing and winning workplace fit out projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the front-end of projects and wants to help a growing business win work, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Estimating & Bidding: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for potential projects, from initial enquiry through to tender submission.

* Pre-Construction Support: Work closely with the senior leadership team, design teams, and clients during the early stages of project development, offering strategic insights and ensuring cost-effective solutions.

* Market Research: Stay up to date with market trends, material costs, and industry developments to ensure our estimates are competitive and reflective of current pricing.

* Tender Preparation: Take ownership of the preparation and submission of tenders, liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and accurate proposals.

* Risk & Opportunity Management: Identify potential risks and opportunities within each project bid, providing mitigation strategies and value engineering solutions where applicable.

* Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the contracts and project management teams to ensure the smooth transition from pre-construction to project delivery.

Requirements:

* Proven experience in estimating within the D&B workplace fit-out sector.

* Strong understanding of cost estimation, tendering, and pre-construction processes.

* Familiarity with relevant software and tools used in estimating.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

* Office: You'll need to come into the office on Tuesdays for weekly team meetings.
