Mechanical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased)
Location:Northamptonshire
Shift: Monday to Thursday Nights (6pm - 2.30am / 6pm - midnight

Salary: £49,500 - £52,000 plus benefits

Are you a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias? Do you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and have the expertise to ensure smooth, efficient operations? We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Mechanical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team, working on a Monday to Thursday night shift.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of machinery and equipment across the manufacturing site.
Respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults quickly and efficiently.
Perform repairs, upgrades, and modifications to plant machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and high standards of workmanship.
Work to improve reliability and performance of all equipment, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times, taking necessary precautions and reporting any hazards or potential risks.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Support the team with breakdown analysis, root cause investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:
Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) with an electrical bias.
Proven experience in reactive and planned maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes, along with electrical fault-finding (PLC, motor control, wiring, etc.).
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Flexible, proactive, and safety-conscious approach to maintenance tasks.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact with other departments effectively.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
