We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established legal firm, for a Financial Controller to be the number two to their Finance Director. This full-time role will oversee the financial operations of the firm, offering a fantastic opportunity to support strategic financial decisions and drive growth. The role is based in Bridgwater, though there is flexibility to work from the Yeovil office for the right candidate.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Financial Controller, you will:

• Lead all aspects of day-to-day financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Provide expert advice to support key business decisions
• Manage cash flow, payroll, and regulatory compliance
• Oversee the finance team and ensure smooth, efficient financial processes
• Work closely with the Finance Director to support business growth and financial performance

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
• Legal industry experience is preferred but not essential
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure
• Familiarity with financial software and systems
