Educated Appointments are delighted to be assisting a Training, Qualifications and Apprenticeship provider in Surrey to recruit an Early Years Tutor/ Assessor.

The role will be hybrid working; based from home with travel to learners locations bi-monthly. 25% of the role will be tutoring; delivering online workshops mainly to groups but sometimes individuals with the remaining 75% of the role assessing.

Caseloads for learners no more than 45, you will be delivering various levels of apprenticeships within Early Years.

Job Duties

- Plan, deliver and report on your course, using methods and materials appropriate to the learner group and course content.

- Produce a Scheme of work/syllabus and lesson plans which are made available to the Operations Director, any class visitors or inspectors when required.

- Prepare/adapt appropriate teaching materials.

- Identify/assess the needs of learners and if necessary adapt course content and delivery style to meet these needs

- To provide appropriate learner feedback and support and educational advice and information where necessary.

- Create an appropriate and welcoming atmosphere to enable learning to take place.

- Carry out the administrative tasks required in each programme area

- Comply with the company policy on Equality and Diversity so that all learners are treated with respect and dignity in an environment in which a diversity of backgrounds and experience is valued. Deal with any harassment or discrimination issues that arise.

- Discuss Learning Outcomes or moderation requirements with learners as the course proceeds.

- Liaise with centre co-ordinator to be aware of venue, resources and administration, including procedures in case of fire and other health and safety issues.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning. Assess learners' work where appropriate. Keep records of learners' progress and ensure learners are given feedback on their progress.

- Offer advice on further learning and progression opportunities to learners as required.

- Ensure that all required paperwork, including application forms, ILPs and other registration forms and course registers, including the tutor's evaluation and claim forms are completed and returned to the office, within two weeks of the end of the course (It is vital for funding purposes that these documents are received promptly).

- Attend relevant induction and training meetings.

- Where appropriate, attend moderation meetings.

- Maintain contact with Centre co-ordinator, and inform her/him immediately of any changes, cancellations, or other significant problems.

- To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and promote the work in supporting management decisions and filtering them down.

- To establish good relationships with learners assigned to you, ensuring they are clear

about the tasks they have been set and deadlines to meet.

- To be pro-active in communicating with learners on a monthly basis and with their workplace managers ensuring all are kept informed of progress.

- To respond to all learners within a 24hour maximum time frame responding to requests in a manner they prefer.

- Advise and support learners in the selection of units and levels., including specifying which aspects of the Standards must be assessed through performance in the workplace

- Provide written declaration that evidence produced is authentic and that the assessment was conducted under specified context or conditions

- Guide and support learners as to required evidence to complete learning programmes and build portfolios.

- Assess learners and provide oral and written feedback directly following assessment or within five working days

- Liaise with internal quality assurers, other assessors, and professionals

- Attend assessors' meetings at least 3 times a year to discuss assessments and relevant issues

- Ensure equal opportunity practice and anti-discriminatory practice is fully addressed

- To maintain occupational competence in the area of assessment
