FP&A Specialist | Video Games Scale-up | Remote

The Client:

Harmonic is delighted to be working with an international Gaming scale-up on their first FP&A hire and right-hand finance support to the CFO.

The business is a renowned video games developer that is behind some of the most successful titles in the last decade that have quickly become household name games. They have sustained consistent revenue growth and international expansion in recent years with turnover recently reaching £75m and with new offices opening across Europe. As a result, the finance team has a newly created role for a commercially-minded finance professional to develop and maintain the FP&A function for all studios with support from the CFO.

You'll join a creative, fun gaming working environment where the impact that each employee brings to the table is of equal value and new ideas are always listened too.

The Role:

As the first dedicated FP&A hire for the business, you'll be responsible for supporting the finance team across all games studios. Reporting into the CFO, your remit will involve business partnering, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and supporting future investments and M&A activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Excel models to support financial analysis for various business units and projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse data for financial assessments and decision-making.
  • Efficiently manage and analyse large datasets to provide actionable insights.
  • Create financial projections and business cases for senior management to evaluate investments and strategic opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing annual budgets and monthly forecasts, ensuring they align with business goals.
  • Conduct scenario analyses and sensitivity testing to support financial planning.
  • Use financial analysis tools like Power BI and Prophix.
  • Identify and implement best practices in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Support strategic planning with financial insights to drive business growth.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven financial modelling and analytical abilities with a minimum of two years of experience.
  • Background in financial planning and analysis, investment banking, M&A, etc.
  • Proficient or knowledge of data-visualisation tools such Power BI, among others.

Bonus Experience:

  • Experience in Gaming or Technology
  • Knowledge of accounting principles is crucial, and experience in cash flow projections is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in various budgeting and forecasting tools; proficiency in Prophix is advantageous.
