An excellent opportunity is available for a Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic and fast-paced acute medicine team in Oxford. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services in an acute hospital environment. The position is full-time, with the option for part-time hours, and the successful candidate can start as soon as possible.

Position Details:

Role: Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist
Location: Oxford, Acute Medicine Department
Hours: Full-time (open to part-time applicants)
Hourly Rate: Up to £30 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients within the acute medicine setting to identify occupational therapy needs.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at improving functional independence, recovery, and overall well-being.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers, to provide holistic patient care.
Provide education and training to patients, families, and staff on occupational therapy interventions, safety strategies, and long-term care plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and ongoing care.
Essential Criteria:

HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
Experience in acute medicine or a similar clinical setting is highly desirable.
Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexible and adaptable approach to working within a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience working in an acute hospital or acute medicine department.
Post-graduate training or qualifications in relevant areas of occupational therapy.
