Key Responsibilities

- Assist in delivering a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum for each child, ensuring access to the National Curriculum

- Support the development of pupils' skills, interests, and attitudes necessary for everyday living

- Foster personal and social awareness in pupils, helping them become valued and contributing members of society

- Promote intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth through respect and understanding of different cultures

- Encourage lively, enquiring minds, the ability to question, reason, and apply to tasks

- Aid in achieving high standards, self-discipline, and a positive code of behaviour

- Create a safe and secure learning environment where pupils can gain self-confidence and improve their self-image

- Provide every pupil with the opportunity to succeed and develop a positive self-image

- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other family members to support pupil progress.

Requirements

- Previous experience in a teaching assistant role, preferably within a special educational needs (SEN) environment

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and pupils

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the learning and development of pupils with complex and profound learning difficulties
