About the Role
Hackney Children's Services is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Access and Assessment Social Worker to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, supportive environment focused on delivering positive outcomes for children and families.

As an Access and Assessment Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing referrals, conducting initial assessments, and determining the appropriate level of intervention required for children and families in need of support. You will be expected to work closely with partner agencies and take a child-focused approach to your practice.

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertake timely and thorough assessments of children and families referred to the service, ensuring their needs and risks are appropriately identified.

* Provide high-quality, evidence-based recommendations for intervention and support, making decisions in line with safeguarding policies and practices.

* Work in partnership with other professionals, including health, education, and the police, to assess and manage risk to children.

* Ensure that children's voices are heard, and their wellbeing is central to all decision-making processes.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with legal and regulatory frameworks.

* Develop and implement care plans to address identified needs, collaborating with families and other agencies to deliver services.

* Attend and contribute to meetings, conferences, and case reviews to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.

What We Are Looking For:

* HCPC-registered Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

* Experience working within children's services, particularly in Access and Assessment or early intervention roles.

* Strong knowledge of child protection procedures, safeguarding legislation, and assessment frameworks.

* Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing a caseload of varying complexity.

* Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organisational and time management skills
