Harvesting Manager

£50,000 - £55,000

Responsibilities:

* Manage the harvesting process to achieve quality and quantity targets.

* Train, mentor, and supervise pickers and supervisors.

* Plan staffing levels.

* Assess crop conditions daily and adjust staffing plans accordingly.

* Ensure proper graze picking to maximize crop yield.

* Maintain high product standards (weight, size, quality).

* Organize daily operations and ensure orders are fulfilled.

* Enforce food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards.

* Monitor picker performance and address underperformance.

* Report issues and drive continuous improvement.

Skills Required:

* Experience in mushroom picking or harvesting.

* Strong leadership and team management abilities.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to assess crop conditions and plan accordingly.

* Organizational skills for scheduling and logistics.

* Good IT and numerical skills for reporting and analysis.

* Understanding of food safety and health regulations.

* Problem-solving skills for addressing operational challenges.

* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

* Flexibility to adapt to business needs and work varied hours.
