Key Responsibilities of the Science Technician:

Preparing and setting up equipment, materials, and solutions for science experiments and lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.
Ensuring all equipment and chemicals are stored, handled, and disposed of in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Supporting science teachers during practical lessons, ensuring experiments run smoothly.
Maintaining laboratory equipment, conducting routine safety checks, and reporting any faults.
Organizing and managing the inventory of lab supplies, ensuring stock levels are sufficient for teaching needs.
Assisting in the development of engaging science resources and materials.
Promoting a safe and efficient lab environment by adhering to safety protocols and good practices.
Requirements for the Science Technician Role:

Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar role is highly desirable.
A good understanding of health and safety regulations within a laboratory setting.
A science-related qualification (e.g., GCSEs, A-levels, or a degree) is advantageous.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff.
A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting the science curriculum.
