V-Recruit are seeking experienced and outstanding applicants for a key pastoral and student facing role within a secondary school environment. This is an extremely rewarding, though at-times challenging role, so we are seeking an individual with passion, integrity, and energy.

You will support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring in order to maximise student attainment. You will monitor all students within your specific year group, both academically and with behavioural issues. You will work closely with the inclusion team and the Vice Principal on intervention strategies, targeting students for intervention. You will utilise the MIS system in order to track and intervene with serial internal truants or students that are constantly late for lessons. You will attend case conferences and other meetings regarding students in your year group, alongside preparing referrals and reports for those students identified as needing intervention.

Other duties may include:

* Supervising breakfast, break and lunchtimes

* Supervising students prior to formal examinations

* Recording safeguarding incidents, including the production of reports on students for multi-agency meetings

* Be the first point of contact for behaviour related incidents and liaising with SLT regarding suitable outcomes

* Attend safeguarding case conferences on behalf of the academy and provide feedback to the delegated person where necessary

* Support the Education Welfare Officer in undertaking truancy sweeps and collect students from home to attend the academy

The chosen candidate will be personable, confident, and professional and take pride in all aspects of their work. We are looking to recruit someone with energy and enthusiasm who will be able to work as an integral part of a busy and hardworking team. Of course, you will have to have excellent personal skills, as you will be working as part of the wider school staff-body ensuring the safeguarding and quality experience of all 1200 students.

The chosen candidate must have previous experience in working within an educational environment and have experience and knowledge of issues affecting students and young people and how to offer supportive assistance. You will need experience of working with other agencies that are able to support students with specific vulnerabilities and know how to access this support. Ideally, you will also have experience of the Common Assessment Framework and its use to support families and students.

The successful candidate will be well supported and will have extensive opportunities for personal and professional development.

In the interests of Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment; Full, enhanced vetting procedures will be strictly followed for all successful applicants, and employment will only be formally offered subject to these checks being satisfied in full.
