QTS Tutor/Teacher - SEN Support (Tipton, West Midlands)

Location: Tipton, West Midlands
Contract Type: Long-term, until July 2025 (potential to support through GCSEs)
Hours: 4 hours of teaching per week, plus 1 hour for planning and preparation

The Role - SEN Tutor (QTS Teacher)

We are seeking a qualified and experienced tutor/teacher to provide one-to-one SEN support for young learners in English, Maths, Science, and Art. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about personalised learning and helping students overcome barriers to education.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored lessons in core subjects, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible
Provide one-to-one tuition in a home-based or residential setting (for Looked After Children - LAC)
Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEN, SEMH, and other additional needs
Implement and contribute to Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
Use de-escalation strategies to manage challenging situations with empathy
Support students in GCSE preparation and re-engagement with formal education
Maintain communication with schools, families, and external agencies to monitor student progress

What We're Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience working with SEN students (ages 11+ to Further Education)
Confidence in delivering face-to-face and online tuition
Passion for supporting young people with diverse learning needs
Ability to teach English, Maths, and Science (Art experience desirable)
