Salary: £25.75 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Community Nurse to join our Substance Misuse Team, specialising in drugs and alcohol. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, offering a competitive hourly rate of £25.75 (umbrella). Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert nursing care to individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse within the community.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including physical and mental health reviews, for clients with complex needs.
  • Develop and deliver tailored care plans, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, that focus on harm reduction, detoxification, and long-term recovery.
  • Administer medications, including substitute prescribing (e.g., methadone), and monitor withdrawal symptoms.
  • Offer advice and support on safer drug use, health promotion, and overdose prevention.
  • Liaise with GPs, social services, housing, and other external partners to provide a holistic approach to client care.

Requirements:

  • NMC registered nurse (Adult/Mental Health) with experience at Band 6 level.
  • Proven background in substance misuse, particularly with drugs and alcohol.
  • Strong knowledge of harm reduction strategies and treatment options for substance misuse.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community visits.
