Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Primary School, Chesterfield

Contract Type: Full-Time (5 days a week) 8.30am - 3.30pm daily Duration: Fixed Term for the Academic Year

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate TA to join our primary school in Chesterfield. This role involves providing one-to-one support to a Year 2 child with Speech and Language difficulties, Autism, and Learning Difficulties, as well as assisting in the classroom for the remainder of the day.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored one-to-one support to a Year 2 child with specific needs.
Assist with the child's individual education plan (IEP), working closely with teachers and specialists.
Support the child's development in communication, social interaction, and academic progress.
Aid the class teacher with general classroom activities and provide support to other students as needed.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children with Speech and Language difficulties, Autism, and Learning Difficulties.
A Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs.
Commitment to working 5 days a week for the duration of the academic year.What We Offer:
