Infrastructure Engineer (DLR Project)

Location: East London (On-site, minimum 4 days per week)

Contract Type: Full-time / Contract - 6 months

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to support the DLR project delivery. The ideal candidate should have extensive real-world experience in delivering new on-premises data centres and be able to lead the project effectively. Prior experience with Transport for London (TfL) or DLR projects is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the delivery of a new on-premises Data Centre.
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
Build and configure Microsoft Server infrastructure, including:

Active Directory
Network Policy Server
FTP Server
Windows Update Server
Group Policy configuration for server lockdown
Implementation of CIS Benchmarks
Setting up logging to interface with SIEM

Deploy and configure Dell Servers, including Stormagic vSAN.
Build VMware Esxi and vCenter Server from scratch to create a High Availability Solution.
Deliver a VEEAM backup solution.
Administer and secure Red Hat Linux servers, including:

Backup policy creation
Lockdown to CIS benchmarks
Setting up logging to interface with SIEM

Set up and configure Syslog NG Server.
Support the configuration of Solarwinds NMS Server, including SQL setup and tuning.
Assist with the setup of SIEM logging and playbooks.
Work with the network team to configure Cisco DUO.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven track record of delivering new on-premises data centres.
Ability to lead infrastructure projects.
Experience working on TfL or DLR projects (highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies and VMware.
Experience with Red Hat Linux administration and security hardening.
Familiarity with logging solutions and SIEM integration.
Knowledge of Solarwinds NMS Server and SQL tuning.
Ability to work in East London with minimal additional costs.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect / Windows Server
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
CISSP / Security+ (or equivalent security certification)
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (desirable for network support)
