Workshop Engineering Technician
Location: Northamptonshire
Day shift: Monday to Friday
45 hours per week, between the hours of 06.00- 18.00

I'm currently working with and on behalf of my client to secure qualified, highly skilled and
motivated HGV Technicians for their workshop in the Leeds area.
The company are part of a global brand which are at the forefront of the manufacture and
maintenance of a wide range of specialist and bespoke commercial vehicles. They are part of a
family run global group who have been in operation for over 100 years and have operations in every
corner of the world so it gives you an indication of how well organised and how successful they have
been and they strive to deliver exceptional customer services to all their customers, both externally
and internally (this includes the investment and additional training as and when required for their
employees)
The role:
Day shift Monday to Friday

• Overtime available
• Standby and call out fees additional to these rates.
• 25 days on holiday plus Bank Holidays

We are looking for qualified and time served HGV Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough
understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.
You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will
be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained however
is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first-class service.
You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet.
You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV's) road tankers, gritters, RCV's
Refuge vehicles, Diesel and EV vehicles.
The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)
· Routine (and preventative) maintenance
· MOT preparation
· Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
· 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
· Correction of running defects
· Chassis and fabrication work
· Hydraulics and pneumatics
· Improvement of vehicle standards
· Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
Requirements:

Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV
Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
