Our client, a global financial services organisation, is seeking a Debt Capital Markets Lawyer for a Senior Legal Counsel to join their global Legal function. The successful candidate will be involved in investment grade and emerging markets transactions, including senior debt issuance, capital and subordinated transactions, Islamic finance, liability management, securitisation and covered bonds.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal advice and guidance to various teams across EMEA. You will manage and lead transactions, coordinating varied stakeholders while demonstrating your capabilities effectively. Your work will span across investment grade and emerging markets transactions, including senior debt issuance as well as capital (AT1, MREL) and subordinated transactions. You will also engage in Islamic finance, liability management, securitisation and covered bonds. This role requires a high level of commitment, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.The ideal candidate will be:

* Qualified lawyer with at least 5-10 years relevant post qualification experience in banking and finance practice;* Experience with regulatory capital, high grade and emerging markets, Islamic finance, MTN programmes, corporate issuance, liability management and covered bonds;* English law qualified;* Up-to-date knowledge of developments in own industry sector;* Familiarity with MIFID2, UK MiFIR, PRIIPs, ESG, Prospectus Regulation and cross border banking laws and regulations;* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;* Lateral thinking/problem solving abilities.
