Hours: 8:30am - 5pm Mon-Fri

Overview:

The Stone & Marble Finishing Workshop patinates and finishes fireplaces to the required standards and plays a key role in our busy workshop and is responsible for ensuring orders assigned to them are completed to client requirements in line with the finishing workshop's schedule as instructed on the work order, while also contributing to a clean and safe workshop environment.

Duties:

Working on Orders:

* Patinating and finishing fireplace orders in line with the client brief; this includes applying your knowledge of patinas and finishes, colour matching, checking alignment, cutting rebates, standing fireplaces, and making any necessary repairs during the process.

* Managing your workload efficiently in line with the workshop's schedule to meet dispatch/installation deadlines. Communicating to your manager as soon as each of your jobs are complete.

* Having a good command of all stone and marble finishes.

* Checking the details of the orders before beginning work.

* Communicating any issues promptly to your manager (or your supervisor in their absence) and where appropriate addressing issues to avoid or minimize impact on the client.

* Ensuring all orders you work on are completed correctly and in line with workshop targets (as directed by your manager).

* Conducting quality control on your work; making sure orders are stood for checking after patination then loaded onto a pallet for dispatch by the warehouse team.

* Notifying your manager of any gaps in your skills or expertise where you may need training and completing all training you are given.

* Making samples to demonstrate the patinas and finishes.

Safe Working:

* Contributing to safe working, ongoing cleaning, and care of tools and safe storage when not in use.

* Safely storing chemicals when not in use and disposing of chemicals properly.

* Contributing to a clear and safe workshop.

* Ensuring you follow all health and safety procedures and reporting protocols adhered to.
