Your Opportunity

We are a modern and forward-thinking online Tax Practice situated in Devon, providing personal tax services to private clients located worldwide, primarily those with property investments in the UK or overseas.

This is a key role within a specialised tax practice and offers an excellent opportunity to work entirely from home while contributing to the growth of the company. In this role you will assist private clients with all aspects of their tax compliance requirements and support a variety of tax advisory tasks for individuals.

Alongside prior experience in a tax practice, the ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for personal tax and demonstrate strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, the capability to foster strong working relationships, and the innate ability to communicate effectively with clients.

This is a permanent position of 22.5 - 30 hours per week. Salary of £35,000 to £45,000 (pro rata) depending on experience, plus:

  • 30 days holiday including bank holidays plus an additional day for each year of service (pro rata);
  • Flexible working policy - fully remote home based role (core hours are between 10am and 3pm);

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, acting as the primary point of contact;
  • Handle all compliance-related tasks associated with a portfolio of private clients, which includes managing client’s tax queries;
  • Review financial documents to ensure accuracy of self-assessment returns on both cash basis and accrual methods of accounting;
  • Reviewing tax returns and advice work prepared by other team members;
  • Provide assistance on tax technical matters and engage in technical research as needed;
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to junior staff members.

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Fully ATT or CTA qualified
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing your own portfolio of clients within personal tax is essential
  • Experience advising non-UK residents and non-dom individuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, resolving their queries in a timely manner
  • Experienced in all aspects of the Self-Assessment and CGT tax return process
  • Possess a strong technical personal tax knowledge and the ability to research and communicate technical information to both colleagues and clients
