Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Understand the University's goals for HR and payroll processes, ensuring the system configuration aligns with these objectives.
  • Maximise the use of automation and data analytics to streamline processes.

Project Execution:

  • Collaborate with the project manager to lead a cross-functional team for the HR & payroll module implementation.
  • Support the testing manager in developing and executing test plans.
  • Ensure project milestones, tasks, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Facilitate clear communication and foster collaboration within the team.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Attend regular status meetings, providing updates and flagging potential risks or issues.
  • Proactively mitigate challenges and ensure the project remains on track.

Adaptability & Problem-Solving:

  • Respond to changes in project scope or requirements, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Assist in developing contingency plans for unforeseen challenges, maintaining flexibility throughout the project life cycle.

Project Closure:

  • Participate in project review sessions to evaluate successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the seamless transition of the HR & Payroll system into regular operations.
  • Contribute to documenting key leanings to inform future projects.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of HR and payroll systems, particularly within the UK higher education sector.
  • Proficiency in business process alignment, system configuration, and data insights.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Competency in data manipulation, including transformation and imports.
  • Experience in building Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
