Semi Senior Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated Semi Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accountancy, particularly within a practice environment, and who is adept at managing both accounts and personal tax administration tasks. The successful candidate will be instrumental in handling a significant volume of accounts and providing robust support during peak times.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage and complete accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders, including VAT clients.
• Handle tax return administration, including tax refunds and payment processes.
• Communicate and liaise effectively with clients via email and telephone.
• Support the team with ad hoc tasks and year-end account preparations.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of accounts.
• Utilise various accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Kashflow, FreeAgent, and particularly Iris, to maintain and manage financial records.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
• Proficiency in handling accounts and personal tax administration.
• Strong experience with Iris software is mandatory.
• AAT qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to engage with clients directly.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and diligent approach.
