Responsibilities

* Company Policies: Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and welfare policies of the company.

* Assisting in preparation of analysis quotations to customers

* Meshing and assembly of FE models to internal or customer-specific model quality guidelines using pre-processing software, including application of suitable material models, loads and boundary conditions.

* Use of FEA to perform crashworthiness analysis to guide the design of a vehicle.

* Using appropriate static and dynamic analysis software packages to solve problems involving linear elastic and non-linear elastic/plastic material models, small and large deformation behaviour, and contact.

* Interpreting analysis results using post-processing software and formally documenting analysis methodology, results and conclusions within analysis reports where required

* Presenting analysis results to internal and external customers, providing recommendations on possible design optimisation to save weight and/or improve performance

* Communicating with internal and external customers on a day-to-day basis, as well as the design and project management team.

* Maintaining analysis and project documentation to satisfy the quality management system and customer-specific requirements.

Essential Skills

* Engineering or Maths / Physics degree, higher OR equivalent

* 5 Years or more proven ability of working within the Automotive industry, OEM environment or Tier 1 Supplier within CAE Analysis

* Ability to demonstrate hand calculations to support FE analysis

* Relevant simulation experience and experience of analysing test data

* Ability and project knowledge of Hyperworks, LS-Dyna, Oasys Suite and Radioss software

* Intermediate knowledge of core FEA codes

* Work with minimal supervision and can work under own initiative, but still work on direct instruction from management

* Ability to lead individuals and communicate clearly and effectively within the internal team and customers

* Awareness: Project deliverables, customer processes.

* Has a flexible approach to working

* Represents the company internally & externally with acceptable professional standard

* Intermediate skills in at least one core discipline

* Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK - Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/ provided.

Desirable

Software programming or scripting ability

Knowledge of linear static analysis using MSC/Nastran or Optistruct

Knowledge of composites analysis, design and manufacture
