Finance Manager | Organic Health and Wellness Brand | South London

Harmonic is thrilled to partner with a rapidly expanding beverage brand entering an exciting phase of growth. This is their first in-house finance hire, reporting directly to the Founder. Despite being only a few years into trading, the company's impressive turnover is expected to double by the end of next year, taking revenue from £3m to £6m for the last financial year, with a view to get to £10m by 2025, highlighting their rapid scaling potential.

As a B Corp certified business, the Finance Manager will join the management team, working closely with the Founder, COO, and Head of Sales. Since launching, the brand has experienced significant growth and is now stocked in over 1,000 premium retailers including Ocado and 'Whole Foods Market'. With the business projected for continued expansion, this role offers the opportunity to grow alongside the company. Currently at 18 employees, they aim to expand to 25 by 2025 across various departments.

Their beverage, made from organic ingredients, has earned them the highest B Corp score in their product category. Committed to delivering the best quality and taste, the brand focuses on high quality production over mass manufacturing. As the first in-house finance team member, you'll have the chance to shape and scale the department working closely with the company founder. Our client is looking for a hands-on, motivated individual who is passionate about the building their experience within a fast growth SME. The ideal candidate will not only enjoy working as part of a small but high calibre team but also have a passion and enthusiasm for the health and wellness space.

The role is based at their production site, where the ethos is to create a fun, close-knit, and non-corporate working environment.

About the role:

  • Establish forecasting and budgeting processes across the business.
  • Report on KPIs and provide insights for management teams across the marketing, sales and supply chain/operations function.
  • Analyse sales and margins by customer, channel, and product; offer recommendations the Founder and senior management team around area's for growth and improvement.
  • Ownership of the cash flow forecasts and management of working capital.
  • Model growth scenarios and support future fundraising efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the company's outsourced bookkeepers, managing their service level agreement while providing them with the necessary data and instruction to produce the monthly accounts up to trial balance.
  • Internal, and external, stakeholder management. Including supporting the operations team on financial processes, such as invoices, billing, expenses and making payments, along with customers on billing and invoice queries.

What our client would like to see (Essential):

  • Fully qualified ACA/ICAS or ACCA
  • Strong technical background
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience post qualification, within Food, Drink, Fashion, Retail, Ecommerce, etc.
  • Confidence with strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation, ambition, and is full of entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Positivity with a do-it-now attitude.
  • Experience within the Fashion / Retail / Food & Beverage industry

What we would like to see (Non-Essential):

  • Experience with Xero
  • Previous experience in manufacturing food, drinks or consumer goods
  • Desire to be part of a fast growth SME and environment where there is a lot of growth and development

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000

Location: South London (office based)
