Assistant Headteacher - SEMH School

Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Headteacher to join a specialist school catering for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We are looking for an inspirational and dedicated leader with a strong background in SEND/SEMH education, who can support the Headteacher in driving the strategic direction of the school, improving outcomes, and fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with additional needs and the ability to inspire both staff and students alike.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the Headteacher in providing strong leadership and strategic direction for the school

* Contribute to driving high standards of education and pastoral care

* Lead and inspire staff, supporting their professional development

* Play a key role in ensuring the school remains a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students

* Oversee specific aspects of the school's operations, including curriculum development, behaviour management, and safeguarding

* Work closely with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the school's impact

The Ideal Candidate:

* Proven experience as a senior leader or Assistant Headteacher in a SEND/SEMH setting

* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

* Passionate about improving the lives of young people with additional needs

* A team player with the ability to engage and collaborate with staff, students, and external partners

* Committed to creating an environment where every student can thrive
