We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housing Support Officerwho has experience working in a customer facing role, preferably supporting vulnerable people, with excellent communication and administrative skills.
Working as the Housing Support Officer you will join a friendly and hard-working team in supporting customers living in supported accommodation service.
As a Housing Support Officer you will work as a keyworker to residents, enabling them to sustain their tenancies by promoting independence, freedom and choice.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Housing Support Officer will include:
- Assess referrals and engage with prospective clients using a person-centred approach
- Ensure that prospective and current clients are fully aware of the support available, their financial obligations, rights and responsibilities under their tenancy/occupation arrangements and all related procedures
- Working jointly and cohesively with housing management teams to give the best possible service to those that are being supported
- Help clients when living in the accommodation in facilitating move-on to suitable accommodation
- Support clients via the access and helpline, over the phone and in a face to face context
- Agree and review client Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments on a regular basis and deliver contracted hours of support achieving the required outcomes
- Deliver the support identified in an Independent Living Plan through regular personal contact as appropriate, taking follow up action as required
- Design and deliver structured support to groups as appropriate to the service specification and/or local need
- Liaise with internal departments and outside agencies and contacts where appropriate in order to ensure the delivery of support and act as advocate where necessary
- Liaise with partner agencies and other key stakeholders as appropriate to ensure that good communication and co-operation is maintained
- Report any concerns relating to safeguarding of vulnerable people using the correct procedures
- Ensure that all relevant documentation and records are completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner
- Support the Group’s Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation process
- Be an ambassador for domestic abuse services, promoting the ADAS service internally as well as to external partners
- Handle complaints and representations in accordance with company policy and undertake any necessary investigations

To be considered you will meet the following criteria:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Basic MS Office skills and willingness to learn new systems
- Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in a similar customer facing role
