Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Procurement and Planning Manager to join their dynamic supply chain team. This position plays a crucial role in operational and strategic management, ensuring effective sourcing, demand and supply planning, inventory management, and compliance with customs regulations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a multinational manufacturing environment and strong leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing
- Manage procurement of packaging, raw materials, and finished goods locally and through imports.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels aligned with value and Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) targets.
- Lead monthly inventory reviews with stakeholders and oversee the implementation of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Conduct strategic supplier negotiations, contract implementation, and benchmarking.
- Monitor supplier performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with internal departments like Marketing, Finance, Sales, and R&D to meet aligned targets.
- Planning
- Manage the demand and supply planning process to achieve and exceed On-Time In-Full (OTIF) targets of 96%.
- Coordinate with production to ensure smooth supply of raw materials and packaging.
- Ensure optimal stock levels at warehouses nationwide.
- Imports and Customs
- Oversee imports, clearing and forwarding, and compliance with customs regulations.
- Manage SLAs and KPIs for third-party service providers.
- Administration and Reporting
- Lead efficiency-driven projects for process improvements and cost reduction.
- Prepare and submit reports for local, regional, and global stakeholders.
- Analyze business trends and drive data-driven insights.
- Manage BBBEE sourcing elements.
- Compliance and Audits
- Implement and review internal controls in line with ISO standards.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and support internal and external audit processes.
- People Management
- Supervise and manage direct reports, including performance reviews and key performance areas (KPAs).
- Motivate, coach, and develop a high-performance team culture.
- Manage discipline and employee relations according to company policies.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement, manufacturing planning, and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in SAP, Syspro, ClickView, and advanced Microsoft Excel.

- 12+ years of experience in Procurement and Planning, with 6+ years in management roles.
Qualifications
- Matric with Mathematics and Accountancy.
- Degree in Procurement, Finance, or Supply Chain.
