What you will do

We're seeking a Head of Enterprise Bid Management & Business Development to join our Sales Enablement Team, reporting to the Sales Enablement Director UK&I. Ideally based in Birmingham, this role requires travel but offers flexible working from home options. You will lead a team of 18, including business development managers and enterprise bid teams, supporting diverse business units across the UK.

How you will do it

  • Report to the Sales Enablement Director and work with the Head of Sales and business leaders to boost enterprise growth and bid management.
  • Oversee strategy, processes, and structure for business development and bids.
  • Enhance win rates, optimize operations, and set bid standards.
  • Lead growth initiatives, manage performance metrics, and ensure effective bid management.
  • Support tenders and enterprise bids, managing qualification stages and bid strategies.
  • Increase bid submissions, improve lead generation, and streamline bid processes.
  • Develop a central repository for bid content and plan team resources.
  • Collaborate with Pricing and General Managers to drive margin and revenue growth.
  • Work with sales teams to craft compelling proposals and manage risk.
  • Develop and nurture key team talent.

Required

  • Resilient, adaptable leader with proven bid management and business development experience in complex commercial environments.
  • Strong commercial skills and ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Industry expertise in Enterprise Business Development/Bid Management with a track record of leading change and motivating teams.
  • Strategic and hands-on approach, excellent communication, and strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, matrixed organization and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred

  • 10+ years in a similar role, program management experience, and familiarity with formal sales methodologies.
  • Direct customer experience at all levels.
