Maintenance Technician

£48757 - Shift work

Reports To: Senior Maintenance Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical and Mechanical) to provide both preventative and reactive engineering support to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities:

* Respond swiftly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.

* Perform scheduled maintenance and take a proactive approach to prevent repeat machine failures.

* Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.

* Liaise positively with other departments to ensure seamless collaboration and support.

* Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and equipment conditions using established systems.

* Ensure machinery operates efficiently, addressing any running problems promptly.

* Uphold GMP, hygiene, and Health & Safety standards at all times.

* Adhere to engineering stores procedures and documentation.

* Provide technical cover within a shift structure and offer overtime support when needed.

* Monitor and adjust machinery during production as necessary.

* Undertake any reasonable tasks as directed by supervisors.

Health & Safety Commitment:

* Prioritise Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in all actions.

* Operate equipment within the scope of training and competence.

* Assess risks before undertaking tasks and seek guidance if unsure.

* Report any accidents, injuries, property damage, or near misses.

Skills and Requirements:

* Time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

* ONC qualification or equivalent preferred.

* Demonstrable experience in a similar manufacturing environment.

* Strong organisational skills, capable of prioritising workload effectively.

* Flexible, reliable, and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
