Job Description: We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing team. This role is perfect for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is eager to start or advance their career in accountancy. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting their accountants and ensuring the smooth operation of our client's financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Perform bookkeeping duties, including processing invoices and reconciling accounts
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Liaise with clients to resolve queries and provide support
  • Support senior accountants with ad-hoc tasks and projects
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial forecasts
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team

Requirements:

  • AAT qualification or working towards it (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accountancy practice or similar role
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
