Salary: £38.00 - £40.00/hour immediate start - ongoing

We are seeking a Building Safety Manager for a 3 month interim position paying £38-40 per hour. The role is to start ASAP and is for an initial 3 month period that h+is highly likely to be extended.

As the Building Safety Manager, I will be responsible for the smooth running and efficient day-to-day management of building safety for engagement with our residents on matters affecting their general well- being, health, safety and security both within and around the dwelling they occupy.

You will be required to

Work with the Corporate Lead of Homes and Safety and managers across the organisation to continuously review processes and service delivery and deliver plans for improvement were identified.
Play a leading role in aligning the building safety business continuity plan
Manage specialist surveying contractors (i.e., Fire Risk Assessors), including desk top reviews of Fire risk assessments at planned intervals (quality assurance auditing) to ensure a suitable and sufficient FRA is provided.
Identify technical solutions and develop planned programmes of Fire Safety Works in collaboration with the
Planned Maintenance and Repairs Services
Provide specialist professional and technical advice to effectively coach and mentor to improve knowledge and understanding of fire safety, resident engagement and compliance aspects relating to building management.
Assist the business to interpret the regulatory framework to ensure buildings are designed and equipped with appropriate safety systems, focusing on fire and human behaviour aspects.
Exercise a duty of care in respect of fire safety, structural safety, public safety and public health, working in accordance with the building safety case principles.
Have the competencies required to understand and navigate building and safety risks and be prepared to commit to continuing professional development.
Act as the named BSM for the High-Rise Higher Risk Buildings, liaising directly with the Building Safety
Regulator and Fire Services ensuring that all required requests for information and reoccurring reporting are
appropriately responded to in a timely manner.
Lead the development, implementation and review of all building safety strategy, policies and procedures in line with legislation and audit recommendations.
Support the business to address the cultural change required by the Building Safety Charter Effectively and proactively manage a set number of high-rise higher risk residential buildings ensuring that there is a culture of high performance, strong engagement and a commitment to continual improvement.
Proactively engage with the internal Development team through the design and construction phases for all new properties to ensure all required as built information (including building information modelling (BIM)) is collated, available and to the required standard
Manage and represent the organisation in relation to the 'Safety Case' required by the Building Safety Regulator.
Ensure the effective operation and availability of general safety and fire safety equipment within all assigned properties and that of their associated assets.
Liaise and assist assessors in access the HRRB's. Ensure that remedial actions are appropriate, monitored and completed both to the required standard and within the allocated timeframes and consider mitigating actions where necessary.
Provide advice, guidance and clear information regarding general safety and fire safety to all stakeholders including other Directorates and residents.
Coordinate all repairs for buildings in scope, alterations and installations delivered with relevant internal teams and confirm they are carried out within agreed timeframes and to the highest of standards ensuring that all works are recorded and related documentation is available for review - appointing external
contractors if required.
Monitor Repairs and Maintenance contractor's work for their impact on building safety, inspect completed works and ensure standards are to the highest quality.
Ensure that remedial works to buildings, necessary to meet statutory building safety requirements, are coordinated and delivered appropriately.
Ensure that building safety information is maintained and assessed to the highest of standards both prior to and during its occupation.
Implement robust risk management principles, project management skills, financial management and routine active monitoring within areas of responsibility and in support to
Ensure the implementation of building specific resident engagement plans.
Actively engage with the Customer Services, Home Ownership and Environment teams to ensure the services delivered by them meet the quality standards required.
Ensure that customers are adequately informed, consulted with and able to positively contribute and influence the operation and development of the services.
Facilitate, support and attend resident engagement initiatives and events, occasionally out of normal hours, promoting the resident voice and awareness to be safe and feel safe in their homes.
Drive and inspire performance, by encouraging the continuous development of team members and ensuring performance targets are met across all main indicators while maintaining value for money as a key principle.Essential Education & Qualifications

Level 4 fire-safety Diploma or equivalent in a related subject or five years' relevant construction experience Level 4 fire-safety Diploma or equivalent in a related subject or five years' relevant construction experience
Be willing to obtain CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management
