My Hartlepool based client is looking to bolster their current fabrication team with the addition of a number of Platers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints.

* Prepare and align steel components using cutting torches, grinders, and other hand tools.

* Shape and fabricate large steel plates and sections for assembly.

* Perform accurate measuring and marking of materials to ensure precision.

* Assemble and tack-weld parts before final welding.

* Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and standards.

* Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.

* Collaborate with engineers, welders, and other team members to achieve project goals.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience as a Plater, specifically with heavy gauge structural steel.

* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

* Strong understanding of metalworking techniques, including cutting, shaping, and welding.

* Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.

* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.

* Physical stamina and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

* Relevant certification or vocational training in metal fabrication or a related field is a plus
