Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School, Lewisham

Start Date: Immediate
Position: Full-time, Long-term (Until the end of the academic year)
Pay: Dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Behaviour Mentor to join our supportive team at a Mainstream Secondary School in Lewisham. The role is full-time, starting immediately, and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for further opportunities. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their full potential and ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural challenges
Develop and implement individual behaviour plans and strategies to promote positive behaviours
Support students in the classroom, assisting with the management of challenging behaviours and helping them stay on task
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams to monitor student progress and wellbeing
Encourage self-regulation and emotional resilience in students
Liaise with parents and external agencies when necessary to support student development
Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviourKey Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, particularly with students who have behavioural or emotional challenges
DBS on the Update Service (Essential)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
Ability to adapt quickly and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
